Erika Alexander on Finding the Calm within the Chaos on "The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins

Erica Alexander shared insights about her latest project, The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins , highlighting her excitement for a role that she describes as both challenging and rewarding. The prospect of working alongside Tracy Morgan, combined with the show's unique mockumentary style, drew her in immediately, likening the opportunity to “being called to the Yankees.”

Alexander noted that stepping into the world of a mockumentary presented its own set of challenges, especially considering the high-paced comedy style associated with EPs Tina Fey and Robert Carlock. "It's like being thrown into the deep end," she said, reflecting on the adjustments she needed to make to fit the rhythm of the show while also aiming to bring authenticity to her character, Monica.

As the conversation came to a close, Alexander discussed her dynamic with co-star Tracy Morgan and their shared moments of humor and camaraderie. She shared anecdotes of how their personalities complement each other, making for a vibrant and engaging workplace. “It's a very singing cast” Alexander noted, reflecting specifically on musical moments on set with Morgan and Craig Robinson.

With the upcoming renewal for a second season of the series, Alexander expressed excitement for what lies ahead for her character and the overall narrative arc, emphasizing the collaborative spirit that defines the show. “We've given our best, and so we're grateful that they seem to dig it, and we'll try to do more of it.”
